in; and he never looked back. By faith Moses,
when he was come to years, refused to
be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter;
Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the
people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures
of sin for a season (Hebrews 11:24,25).
Answer God’s call.
God had great plans for Moses to bring the
Israelites out of Egyptian bondage. It took Him
40 years to prepare Moses for that; but when
Moses was ready, the deliverance took place.
And it came to pass at the end of the four
hundred and thirty years, even the selfsame
day it came to pass, that all the hosts of
the LORD went out from the land of
Egypt (Exodus 12:41). If only the
Israelites had realized they had
been called out and what that
meant, but they never did; and
they endured many years of
suffering because of that.
God called Abraham to be
the father of many nations,
and God promised him a son
by whom his seed would
be multiplied. A father of
many nations have I made
thee. And I will make thee
exceeding fruitful, and I will
make nations of thee, and kings
shall come out of thee (Genesis 17:5,6).
Abraham knew God’s promises were true, but
he had to wait 25 years for his promised son
to arrive.
When Isaac was about 12, the Lord called
on Abraham to sacrifice his son. Abraham
loved God first, so he set out to answer that
call. The Bible tells us that Abraham had such
great faith that he knew if he did sacrifice Isaac
unto God, the Lord would raise him from the
dead because He had promised to multiply his
seed. By faith Abraham, when he was tried,
offered up Isaac: and he that had received
the promises offered up his only begotten
son, Of whom it was said, That in Isaac
shall thy seed be called: Accounting that
God was able to raise him up, even from the
dead; from whence also he received him in a
figure (Hebrews 11:17–19).
Use God’s Thoughts
When you have Jesus, you have life; but
you must have the Holy Spirit to bring to your
mind the things Jesus brought to us and help
you use them. Your mind is too small to contain
all the divinity made available to you, but
your soul is large enough to take it all in.
When the Holy Spirit lives in you, He will
flow what is in your soul into your mind. When
you have tormenting things on your mind that
you don’t want to think about, turn them over
to the Holy Spirit; and He will fill your
mind with God’s thoughts. That is
why the Psalmist said, My cup
mind runneth over (Psalm
23:5). The Holy Spirit will see
to it that your mind cup runs
over with good thoughts.
O LORD, how great
are thy works! and thy
thoughts are very deep
(Psalm 92:5). Man’s
thoughts are shallow;
but when you think God’s
thoughts, you go into the
deepness of God, into the
depths of the greatness of His love
and power and into that which man cannot
think on his own. The Holy Spirit will take you
into the very heart of God; and His thoughts
will bring you joy, peace and gladness. They
will bring healing to your soul, mind and body.
Jesus must be the divine head of all your
thinking and ways, and His ways are not your
ways. For as the heavens are higher than
the earth, so are my ways higher than your
ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts
(Isaiah 55:9). When you think deep, you will
soar like the eagle high above all the storms
of life; and you will have the wisdom and
knowledge of God. Don’t become entangled
with your own ideas, opinions and ambitions
because they are of the flesh and the world.
