no man, when the water is troubled, to put
me into the pool: but while I am coming,
another steppeth down before me (John
5:6,7).
The man did not realize that he no longer
needed the pool because the Miracle
Worker—Jesus Christ, the living water—was
standing right in front of him. The man just
had to take a step of faith to receive his miracle;
and when he did, Jesus saith unto him,
Rise, take up thy bed, and walk. And immediately
the man was made whole, and took
up his bed, and walked (John 5:8,9).
Later, Jesus found the man in the temple and
told him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin
no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee
(John 5:14). Jesus paid the price so the man
could not only be made whole but go forth
and live a holy life, not a life of sin. That living
water is available to everyone. It is not
first come, first served; there is plenty for all
to receive. Jesus paid the price so all mankind
could have the living water and never thirst
again.
Take a Step toward Salvation
Sin brings nothing but destruction to your
soul, mind and body. The devil has deceived
many people into believing that no one can
live free from sin, yet Jesus told the man at
the pool to go and sin no more lest a worse
thing come upon him. Jesus was warning the
man that if he turned back to a life of sin, he
could not only lose his miracle but a worse
sickness could come upon him.
We need to cherish the miracle power of
God, and the greatest miracle of all is the miracle
of salvation; but how many people in this
world claim to be Christians while living a life
of sin? There is no power in their testimony
for Jesus Christ, just hypocrisy, and that will
not lead sinners to Christ; it will push them
away from Him.
We all must value the divine blood of Jesus
and what faith in that divine blood will do, not
only for the soul but also for the mind and the
body. In order to receive all the benefits in the
blood, you need to repent of your sins; and
then you will be ready to receive a miracle for
whatever you need.
You must hate sin as much as God hates sin.
You can’t serve God and the devil; it is either
one or the other. For all have sinned, and
come short of the glory of God (Romans
3:23); but the Lord has given each one of us a
measure of faith to reach out for that miracle
of salvation. God hath dealt to every man
the measure of faith (Romans 12:3). I can’t
force you to receive Jesus Christ as your personal
Savior; you have to want Him to come
into your heart. All I can do is encourage you
to take that step of faith to receive the greatest
miracle of all—the miracle of salvation.
If you are ready to take that step right now,
go to ErnestAngley.org/salvation or say the
sinner’s prayer at the end of the first sermon
found on page 7 of this magazine. God bless
you today.
