and the devil is going to fight you in every
way He can to keep you from saying and
doing what God wants; but you must resist
him. Submit yourselves therefore to God.
Resist the devil, and he will flee from you
(James 4:7).
God needs you. He is always looking for a
willing heart and two more hands to use, and
you must make every day count. Your heart
must beat in rhythm with God’s heart at all
times.
Let God’s Will Be Done
The Bible says you cannot properly direct
your own steps, so you must ask the Lord to
direct them. O LORD, I know that the way
of man is not in himself: it is not in man
that walketh to direct his steps (Jeremiah
10:23). You cannot please God on your own
either; you have to be directed by the Holy
Ghost. Jesus directed the disciples when He
was here; but after He left, He sent the Holy
Ghost to lead them. Howbeit when he, the
Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you
into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself;
but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall
he speak: and he will shew you things to
come (John 16:13).
The Lord wants to enlarge your steps. Thou
hast enlarged my steps under me, that my
feet did not slip (Psalm 18:36). When your
plans seem to be failing, and God is moving
in a way that is different from what you are
used to, remember that God’s ways are not
our ways. For as the heavens are
higher than the earth, so are
my ways higher than your ways,
and my thoughts than your
thoughts (Isaiah 55:9). God will
work all things out for your good,
but you have to allow Him to do
that.
God is searching the Earth for
those He can work through His
way and for those who will
bring glory to Him. He needs
those who will say to the Father
as Jesus did in the Garden of
Gethsemane, “Not my will, but
thine be done.”
Jesus was going through so much agony in
the garden that night, yet He bowed to God’s
will. And he Jesus went a little farther,
and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O
my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass
from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as
thou wilt (Matthew 26:39).
If you want glory for yourself, just keep
doing things your own way; but if you want
God to get the glory, you must be willing to
do things His way. Jesus is our example in
everything; and He said, He that loveth his
life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life
in this world shall keep it unto life eternal
(John 12:25).
Jesus knew He would have to give His life
for the redemption of mankind, yet He was
willing; and He wanted His Father to be glorified.
He said for all those around Him to hear,
Father, glorify thy name. Then came there
a voice from heaven, saying, I have both
glorified it, and will glorify it again (John
12:28). Are you willing to give all so that
God’s name can be glorified?
God Must Be in Control
God wants to use you for His purpose. He
wants to change the direction of your life so
He can get more glory out of it. He wants
you to surrender everything to Him so He can
bless you and bless others through you.
The devil can’t do anything with you when
you want God’s will completely. For it is
God which worketh in you both to will
and to do of his good pleasure
(Philippians 2:13). But as long
as you want your will in anything,
God is limited. He doesn’t
have freedom to bless you or use
you, and you will be the loser.
The Lord can only work in a life
that says yes to Him. Then He
will perform His work in you
until Jesus comes. Being confident
of this very thing, that
he which hath begun a good
work in you will perform it
until the day of Jesus Christ
Rapture Day (Philippians 1:6).
